LASER COMPONENTS, a leading provider of laser optics solutions, has announced a recent significant enhancement in its in-house coating capabilities through its integration of an additional Ion Assisted Deposition (IAD) system.

This expansion aims to bolster the company’s capabilities to promptly address customer inquiries and produce complex coating designs in larger quantities, while maintaining flexibility for small series and prototypes.

Specializing in meeting intricate customer requirements, LASER COMPONENTS is adept at developing tailored solutions such as highly reflective mirrors, complex dichroic mirrors, beam splitters with low tolerances, thin-film polarizers with additional optical functions, and optics capable of withstanding high laser powers in vacuum environments. These specialized solutions necessitate advanced coating techniques like IAD or Ion Beam Sputtering (IBS), prompting LASER COMPONENTS to continuously invest in these technologies.

Barbara Herdt, Head of the Laser Optics business unit at LASER COMPONENTS Germany, note, “Our customers have very specific requirements. The solutions we develop in close cooperation often push the limits of current technology,” says Barbara Herdt, Head of the Laser Optics business unit at LASER COMPONENTS Germany. “At the same time, we also have to remain competitive in terms of price. These requirements can only be reconciled if we continue to invest in advanced technologies and additional production capacities.”
