Hirose Electric has expanded its hybrid FPC-to-board connector offering with a fully shielded version designed to support reliable signal transmission in compact, EMI-sensitive electronic systems. The compact BK35 Series supports high-speed data transmission rates up to 40 Gbps and RF signal transmission at frequencies up to 40 GHz. Its fully shielded structure blocks radiated and incident magnetic fields to help preserve signal integrity.
Featuring a 0.35 mm pitch, 2.2 mm depth and 0.6 mm stacking height, the connector is designed for space-constrained applications, including smartphones, tablets, notebook computers, wearable devices and other compact electronic systems.
The Hirose Electric BK35 Series hybrid FPC-to-board connector combines power and signal contacts with a fully shielded, armored structure.
The hybrid design combines power and signal contacts within a single connector, reducing the number of connectors required on a printed circuit board and providing additional space and cost savings. Four power contacts rated at 2.5 A each provide power delivery alongside high-speed and high-frequency signal transmission. A fully armored structure provides additional mechanical strength and protects the connector housing against damage caused by misalignment during mating.
The connector provides maximum voltage standing wave ratios of 1.3 from 0 to 5 GHz, 1.4 from 5 to 10 GHz, 1.5 from 10 to 20 GHz and 1.8 from 20 to 40 GHz.
The BK35 Series is available in 16-, 30- and 56-position configurations. Additional specifications include gold-plated contacts, surface-mount termination, 30 V AC and DC voltage ratings and an operating temperature range of -55°C to 85°C.
