KIOXIA America, Inc. has announced that its Universal Flash Storage (UFS) Ver. 4.0 embedded flash memory devices for next-generation automotive applications have achieved Automotive SPICE® (ASPICE) Level 2 certification, making KIOXIA the first known industry manufacturer to receive this certification for automotive-grade UFS 4.0 devices.
This achievement underscores KIOXIA’s commitment to the highest standards of quality, security, and innovation—key factors for automotive manufacturers and Tier 1 suppliers—and further solidifies KIOXIA’s global leadership in the embedded memory market.
Automotive SPICE, based on the ISO/IEC 33000 standard, is an internationally recognized framework for evaluating software development processes in the automotive industry. By achieving ASPICE Level 2 certification, KIOXIA has demonstrated its successful implementation of structured project management and software development processes, ensuring consistent product quality and traceability.
KIOXIA’s UFS Ver. 4.0 embedded flash memory devices are designed to meet the demanding requirements of next-generation automotive applications, including infotainment, integrated cockpit systems, ADAS, and autonomous driving. These devices feature fast embedded storage transfer speeds within a compact form factor. The enhanced performance also enables automotive systems to leverage the benefits of 5G connectivity, improving system startup times and the overall user experience.
