KYOCERA AVX has introduced the high-power 0603 chip resistor as part of its CR Series high-power resistor product line, designed to meet stringent demands in communications, instrumentation, test and measurement, military, and defense applications.
This innovative component supports the miniaturization of RF power amplifiers while improving thermal management and addressing size constraints, thanks to the use of a high-thermal-conductivity substrate and maximized heat sink grounding area.
Additionally, the design of the new KYOCERA AVX CR Series 0603 high-power resistor leverages proprietary thin-film resistive elements, aluminum nitride substrates, and silver terminals to achieve high-reliability performance. It is rated for a capacitance of 0.3pF and a power handling capability of up to 2.6W. Manufactured in ISO-9001 certified facilities and compliant with MIL-PRF-55342 standards, KYOCERA AVX CR Series resistors also feature RoHS compliant and non-magnetic construction, making them suitable for a wide range of high-frequency and high-power applications.
Technical Specifications and Applications
KYOCERA AVX ‘s CR Series high-power chip resistors are available in eight unique chip sizes, ranging from 0603 to 3737, with two standard resistive values(100Ω and 50Ω), along with capacitance values spanning 0.3pF to 6.0pF, a power handling capability of up to 250W, rated operating temperatures extending from -55°C to +150°C, and resistive tolerance as tight as ±2%. They are also available with non-standard values as low as 10Ω and as high as 200Ω and with standard tape and reel or anti-static waffle packaging. The resistors are ideal for use in:
- High-power RF amplifiers
- Dummy loads
- Shunts for power measurement
- Discrete resistive baluns for impedance matching
