UK-based precision sensor manufacturer Micro-Epsilon has expanded its surfaceCONTROL range of high-precision 3D snapshot measurement sensors, catering to a broader spectrum of automated, inline measurements for object geometry, shape, and surface quality.
The new surfaceCONTROL 3xx0-240 offers an extended measuring range of 240 mm and a measurement area of up to 245 x 180 mm. Optimal measurement results are achieved within a z-axis range of 340 to 540mm.
Featuring a compact design and exceptional z-axis resolution, the surfaceCONTROL 3xx0-240 sets a new standard in high-precision 3D measurement technology, boasting high repeatability, enlarged measuring area, and extended measuring range.
Available across all models of the surfaceCONTROL 3xx0 series, such as the surfaceCONTROL 3D 3200 and surfaceCONTROL 3D 3500, each variant offers varying measuring areas and depth of field tailored to diverse industrial applications.
The surfaceCONTROL 3D 3500 delivers unmatched z-axis repeatability of up to 0.4 µm and the highest z-axis resolution of 1.0 µm, with rapid data processing capabilities of up to 2.2 million 3D points per second, optimizing productivity.
Meanwhile, the surfaceCONTROL 3D 3200, a cost-effective alternative to the 3D 3500 model, maintains comparable technical performance benefits. The surfaceCONTROL 3D 3200-240 offers a z-axis repeatability of up to 0.6 µm and a z-axis resolution of 1.5 µm, with swift data acquisition times starting from 0.3 s, ideal for diverse industrial applications.
Suitable for various applications, including flatness measurement, coplanarity measurement, and surface defect detection, the surfaceCONTROL 3xx0-240 ensures precise inspection across various industrial components.
All surfaceCONTROL 3D systems comply with the latest GigE Vision and GenICam standards, facilitating seamless integration into third-party image processing software. A comprehensive software development kit (SDK) also empowers customers to develop custom analysis software, complemented by Micro-Epsilon’s 3D View software, facilitating convenient sensor evaluation, parameter setup, and object positioning.
