Pickering Interfaces offers modular platforms that support open industry standards, including PXI and LXI, for EV BMS Testing.

As EV technology evolves, testing the complex systems that ensure safety and efficiency is increasingly critical. Among these, the BMS plays a central role in monitoring battery health, optimizing performance, and protecting the system from damage. Effective BMS validation requires rigorous testing across a wide range of operational conditions, often at high throughput rates.

To address these needs, Pickering provides modular platforms that support open industry standards, including PXI and LXI. This approach ensures long-term flexibility, enabling seamless integration across diverse test systems. PXI solutions are particularly well-suited for high-density, high-speed applications requiring precise timing synchronization, while LXI/USB systems offer cost-effective, simplified control over Ethernet or USB interfaces. By combining these platforms, engineers can consolidate multiple test capabilities into a single unit, reducing system complexity and ensuring scalability for evolving testing requirements. Unified software further simplifies operations by enabling seamless control of PXI and LXI instruments without driver changes or reconfigurations.

Pickering’s specialized modules are designed to meet the rigorous demands of BMS testing. Fault insertion modules allow engineers to simulate high-current and high-density faults for hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing of BMS, electronic control units (ECUs), and powertrains. RTD simulators provide precision emulation of resistance-based temperature sensors such as PT100 and PT1000, while thermocouple simulators replicate accurate thermocouple behavior for sensor testing in ECU environments. Battery simulator modules support the validation of Li-ion batteries during charge and discharge cycles, offering voltage isolation up to 1000V. These tools collectively enhance the accuracy and reliability of BMS validation, ensuring robust performance under diverse operating conditions.
