SECO to Showcase Modular Vision HMI Series at Embedded World

Embedded Systems Industrial Automation Industrial Internet of Things

SECO, global industry experts in edge computing and IoT solutions, has announced that it will present its Modular Vision product line at embedded world 2025. The new HMI platform, also referred to as Panel PCs, provides an integrateddrop-in embedded computing solution with display, reducing time and engineering costs for OEMs. With a focus on modularity, flexibility, and scalability, these HMIs empower businesses to adapt swiftly to changing technological and operational needs. At the heart of the Modular Vision series is its ability to seamlessly integrate with various edge computing and IoT ecosystems and evolve with them, enabling users to achieve faster deployments, reduce costs, enhance operational efficiency, and offer added-value services through their smart products. Early samples of Modular Vision HMIs will be showcased at the event, with volume manufacturing to follow in 2025.

About embedded world 2025

Held from March 11 to 13 in Nuremberg, Germany, embedded world 2025 is widely considered the industry’s premier global event for embedded computing technology. The exhibition provides a perfect stage for SECO to present its new smart interactive display solutions for industrial machinery and appliances. These HMI assemblies provide a drop-in embedded computing platform with a display, enabling OEMs to avoid the time and expense of ground-up engineering. In addition, the samples showcased at embedded world 2025 will be made available to early adopters, paving the way to imminent volume manufacturing. Other configurations will be released over the course of the year.

Modular HMI Solutions for Industrial and IoT Applications

Designed for industrial automation, healthcare, and emerging IoT applications, the SECO Modular Vision series provides a flexible and scalable HMI solution for smart kiosks, industrial baking ovens, swimming pool chemical measurement devices, climate chambers,  welding machines, and laboratory devices. Its modular design enables seamless integration into edge computing ecosystems, for optimized deployment speed, cost efficiency, and operational reliability.

SECO Modular Vision HMIs are offered in three unique standard display options:

  • 7-inch (1024 x 600 resolution)
  • 10.1-inch (1280 x 800 resolution)
  • 15.6-inch (1920 x 1080 full HD resolution)

Each unit features a PCAP touchscreen, 400 cd/m² brightness, and an LED backlight lifespan of 50,000 hours. To accommodate diverse industrial environments, the displays support panel, flush, rear, and VESA-mount configurations.

Connectivity includes CAN-FD, RS-232/RS-485, GPIOs, and USB-C, USB-A, and Ethernet, ensuring compatibility with industrial and computing interfaces. A heat sink integrated into the aluminum housing enhances thermal management.

Processor Architecture and OS Support

Modular Vision HMIs support multiple embedded processor architectures, including:

  • Arm-Based: MediaTek® Genio 700/510, NXP i.MX 8M Plus, and i.MX 93, integrating Neural Processing Units (NPUs) for edge-based machine learning (ML) applications.
  • x86-Based: Intel Atom® x7000RE series for scalable performance across industrial applications.

The HMI’s modular design enables interchangeability of processors, display sizes, and peripheral boards, allowing customization for product-specific requirements.

The platform runs Clea OS, a Linux-based operating system (Yocto Project) that integrates remote device management, data processing, and IoT communication protocols. Clea OS is natively compatible with SECO’s Clea IoT platform, enabling device and fleet management, AI model deployment, and business service integration. Additional OS support includes Windows and Android (upon request).

Live Demonstrations at embedded world 2025

Attendees can explore the Modular Vision series at SECO’s booth: Hall 1, Booth 320. SECO experts will be available for discussions on HMI deployment, IoT integration, and service-based business models.
