TDK Intros Automotive Inductors for High-Frequency Circuits
The Tokyo, Japan-based TDK Corporation (TSE:6762), world experts in electronic solutions for the smart society, has announced the launch of its MHQ1005075HA inductor series for high-frequency automotive circuits.
Inductors for high-frequency circuits for automotive or infrastructure use must meet higher standards for safety and reliability. This includes design conformance to AEC-Q200, as inductor design structures for automotive-grade applications must avoid any risks of break line problems caused by circuit board bending stress.
The new MHQ1005075HA inductor series incorporates the same materials and construction methods as can be found among conventional inductors while applying TDK’s proprietary expertise to create a fail-safe internal structural design that is suitable for automotive-grade applications. This resulting multilayer method allows for a lineup with fine increments of inductance, resulting in an inductor product that offers high safety and reliability.
With available inductance ranges from 1.0 nH to 56 nH, the MHQ1005075HA achieves these performance enhancements within a standard 1005 size footprint (1.0 × 0.5 × 0.7 mm). The inductors are also designed to reliably operate over a wide operating temperature range of -55 to +125 ℃
Typical applications for the MHQ1005075HA inductor series include high-frequency automotive equipment circuitry, such as transmitter-receiver circuitry for internal and external vehicle communications, such as telematics and V2X. The series may also be specified for use with high-frequency transmitter-receiver circuitry and to support radio communications of smartphones, tablets, base stations, and other devices when used as a component for impedance matching or filter circuits.
Full-scale production of the MHQ1005075HA inductor series began in February 2024. The company further notes that future product line expansions will evolve in direct response to evolving customer needs.
